Outnumbered star Tyger Drew-Honey has a major role in Sky’s Jack the Ripper: Written in Blood after the success of the BBC Christmas special – and has undergone a make-over

Actor Tyger Drew-Honey is best known as a child star in Outnumbered, but it’s been a long time since the BBC show first came out. Tyger is now 29 – compared to just 11 when Outnumbered premiered in 2007 – and has a brand new look for his latest role.
Tyger is now starring in the Sky History series Jack the Ripper: Written in Blood, which is set to air next week on April 10. The show – which will be available to stream on Now TV – is based on the Victorian serial killer, and a first-look at the show reveals Tyger dressed the part in 19th century garb.

The Celebs Go Dating star has switched out his school uniform for a slick suit, sporting a tweed waistcoat over a striped shirt. Tyger – playing real-life Ripper-era journalist Ernest Parke – adds more Victorian flair to his look with a silk cravat, and finishes the look with wire-rimmed glasses.
According to Sky History’s summary, Parke led much of the press around the Ripper killings, and “theorised in the 31st August 1888 edition that Jack The Ripper was a single killer” – so it looks like Tyger’s got a beefy role to sink his teeth into.
Tyger was last seen on screen for the Outnumbered Christmas special, and shocked fans when he reunited with his co-stars Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez in September 2024 years after Outnumbered came to an end in 2016.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans couldn’t believe that the three on-screen siblings had changed so much, with others ‘feeling old’ to see them in black tie, sporting facial hair and tattoos. “OMG those are the kids from Outnumbered now!! Wow,” one person wrote, with another gushing: “How lovely to see the #Outnumbered kids.”
“The Outnumbered kids have grown up. OMG I feel old,” said a third, with another agreeing: “I feel ancient!” Another fan simply stated: “Those are not the Outnumbered kids.”
Tyger previously sparked concern with his appearance ahead of the Christmas special airing, after a photo of him was released looking pale with huge dark circles around his eyes. While many fans expressed worry for the star, others instantly pointed out that Tyger was just wearing makeup to add to his character.

“It’s just makeup due to the storyline they are doing, won’t say if not read. He hasn’t actually got those rings around his eyes,” one person pointed out. A second detailed: “If you read the reviews he’s got a daughter who doesn’t sleep in the show.”
Tyger has made it clear that he’s ready to commit to acting more than ever, and hoped that Outnumbered’s return might open more doors for him moving forwards.
Speaking to The Sun, he shared: “I mean, my acting career over the years has been – I’ve done a few good things and then there have been times when I’ve worked on building sites.
“So, I just dream of having constant acting work and I really hope that the hype – and this beautiful job that we’re going to be doing – will give us momentum into next year so that we can all have a successful next year and a successful year after that. Because the last three or four years have been tough in this industry I think…”
