Christine McGuiness, 37, has opened up about the loneliness she struggled with during her wedding to Paddy, 51, back in 2011. The model revealed that she has ‘no friends’ and confessed to ‘barely’ knowing anyone at the lavish nuptial. The former showbiz couple wed at Thornton Manor in cheshire with a hefty guest list of more than 200 people – most of which were the friends and family of Paddy.

Christine revealed that she’d only invited 15 relatives and friends to her big day. Christine, who recently opened up about her autism, said that her condition made it difficult for her to socialise. She therefore chooses to keep her circle small.

The TV star said on the Shizzio Show podcast: “The wedding was massive, I didn’t really know anybody there, but it was huge.”

Grateful for the circle she did invite, Christine added: “I had no more than 15 people from my family that I knew and I think there was over 200 guests in total. But it was an incredible day, it was amazing!”

On the podcast, Christine went on to talk about having “no friends”. She said: “Now, I have no friends other than Duncan. None at all.” The former Real Housewives of Cheshire star met Blue’s Duncan James in 2021 and they have been inseparable since.

Christine insisted that her decision to keep a tight-knit circle was by choice. She said: “But it’s by choice, I’ve got lots of industry friends and that works for me, it works really well because I haven’t got the time. I can’t keep in touch, I try to but I can’t so then I feel like a s**t friend.

“So industry friends, you work together and you’re in your bubble – like The Games and Hunted – you all know each other, there’s a WhatsApp group for the first couple of weeks and then it fizzles out, and there’s no pressure to keep in touch.

“But then you see each other at events now and again, and for me, that’s much more suitable for me to keep up with. I’m not a social butterfly for the sake of it.”

The mum-of-three spends most of her time caring for her three children, Penelope, Leo and Felicity – all of whom have been diagnosed with autism and require extensive care.

Three years ago, Christine hit headlines after she revealed that her and ex-husband Paddy would still be cohabitating in their family home despite their divorce.

The pair announced their split in July 2022, but chose to live within the same four walls for the sake of the children.

Last month, rumours that Christine is unhappy and wants to sell up and move out of the family home, began to swirl. There had been growing speculation that the arrangement was no longer making her happy.

A court decided late last year that the pair could keep their £2.5million Cheshire house as long as they remained living there together – and our source has recently said that the decision had left former Miss Liverpool Christine feeling torn. “The whole living together, separating and living apart has been a tough journey for Christine. She’s been feeling conflicted because of the kids. She feels like she’s in a bit of a dilemma,” they claimed.
