Coronation Street’s Tina O’Brien set for explosive storyline amid marriage crisis

Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien’s character on the long-running soap, Sarah Platt, is reportedly about to enter a new storyline involving her love life. Her new storyline comes after Tina and her husband, Adam Croft, reportedly called time on their long-term romance after the recent Christmas following a stressful experience moving house.

However, on the cobbles, Sarah will reportedly be entering a new romance with policeman Kit Green, who is played by Jacob Roberts. An insider recently claimed: “Bosses are relieved that Tina is up for another year on the cobbles after losing some big names over the past months.”

“She’s got big storylines coming up for Sarah including a juicy new romance with gorgeous PC Green,” they said to The Sun. The Mirror has reached out to ITV for comment.

Her supposed new storyline comes after Tina was pictured without her wedding ring at the end of March amid rumours around the state of her marriage to Adam Croft.

Seen grabbing a coffee in Cheshire in the afternoon, Tina cut a chic and casual figure as she stepped out amid her possible marital woes. The mum-of-two rocked Adidas trainers, jeans and dark sunglasses as she enjoyed a cup of joe with her dog – with her wedding ring nowhere to be seen on her left hand.

She has yet to comment on the split speculation but has been spotted without her wedding ring on more than one occasion last month and even unfollowed her husband on social media.

It was recently said the pair, who were together 14 years and share a 10-year-old son called Beau, ‘grew apart’ and have reportedly been living separately since December. According to a source, their differing lifestyles are to blame for the break up.

While Adam is really into his fitness, Tina enjoys going out with her mates drinking and dancing “which just isn’t for him.” Though it wasn’t initially an issue when the kids were younger – as Tina has a 16-year-old daughter Scarlett from her previous relationship with Corrie co-star Ryan Thomas – now they are getting older, it’s said to have become more apparent.

Both Tina and Adam have since unfollowed each other on social media, but are still said to be on good terms. She is said to not be ready to date someone new yet but has been enjoying life as a newly single woman.

A source told The Sun: “Tina is obviously really upset that it didn’t work out with Adam, but she’s not hiding away at home.”
