GMB: Hilarious moment David Harewood ‘cuts Richard off’

Good Morning Britain viewers witnessed an awkward encounter between David Harewood and hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid this morning. The British actor and presenter took to the sofa to speak about the Big Give campaign.

Before getting into the campaign, the hosts began asking David on his opinions on hit Netflix series, Adolescence. Recently, Prime Minister Keir Starmer had backed the campaign to show the hard-hitting series in schools, as he revealed he had been watching the series at home.

The show, which stars and is co-written by actor Stephen Graham, follows 13-year-old Jamie Miller who is accused of killing a female schoolmate. Focusing on themes of young male anger, incel culture, masculinity, and misogyny, there have been calls to show the series in schools.

Although David also praised the new series, as the interview went on and the questions continued to come – he interrupted Richard’s question. “Do you think we also underestimate the power of…” Richard began, before getting cut off.

“How long have we got? Because I’m here to talk about the Big Give campaign!” David exclaimed. “Oh yes, go, go,” said a worried Susanna, while Richard then quickly finished his question by asking: “Do you think we underestimate the power of hero worship?”

David then answered the question, mentioning his mental health struggles, before going on to talk about the Big Give campaign.

The awkward moment didn’t go unnoticed on X, formerly known as Twitter, as one penned: “Awkward scenes on GMB – David Harewood there to talk about some campaign, but they spent the whole time asking him about Adolescence – a drama he’s not in. In the end it got a big Partridge as he asked how long they had left to discuss why he was there.” Another wrote: “david does not wanna talk about this.”

Elsewhere in the show, Richard and Susanna were seen talking to Strictly Come Dancing professional, Nikita Kumzin as he hits the road on his new tour.

Susanna asked: “Do you have your favourite celebrity partners joining you on stage?” To which he excitedly disclosed: “I actually do! Do you know what? I’m actually so excited about this because I’ve wanted to say this for such a long time.”

He then revealed he would be joined alongside partner Layton Williams for one night on March 30th.
