This Morning: Cat Deeley says show will be shorter

This Morning’s Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard paused Wednesday’s (March 26) episode to reveal a significant change in ITV’s schedule.

At the beginning of the show, the hosts ran through the day’s agenda. Cat, 48, greeted viewers with: “Hello there and welcome to your Wednesday’s This Morning” while Ben, 50, chimed in: “We have got a lot in this show, don’t we?”.

Cat then revealed: “A lot! It’s a shorter one today” to which Ben added: “A little bit shorter but we’re packing loads in.”

Today’s episode of This Morning will conclude at 12:15pm (Wednesday 26 March), 15 minutes earlier than its usual end time, due to the ITV News Special: The Chancellor’s Statement.

The reshuffling also means that Loose Women, typically airing from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, will not be broadcast today. However, both ITV chat shows are set to return to their regular slots tomorrow (Thursday 27 March), reports Wales Online.

In related news, Vanessa Feltz has spoken out about her departure from This Morning, expressing that she was reluctant to leave after securing her own show on Channel 5.

The 63 year old confirmed her farewell to the popular ITV daytime show, where she has been a staple for over three decades.

Vanessa has secured her own daytime chat show on a competing channel. Although she initially believed she could juggle both roles, it didn’t pan out as expected.

In an exclusive natter with the Metro, the TV personality opened up, sharing that juggling her commitments to both channels just wasn’t possible, although she emphasized that there’s no animosity with the ITV chiefs. She went on record saying their attitude towards her taking on a role with Channel 5 was nothing but supportive.

Chatting with the outlet, Vanessa said: “I love This Morning, I would never leave it, I couldn’t love it more. I would happily have stayed and gone on the back of a motorbike from the This Morning studio straight to Channel 5 and done both.”

The ex-Big Brother celeb further disclosed her initial belief that she could manage both gigs, commenting: “I almost believed I’d be able to do that, but I think apparently, it’s not the way it’s done… but I’d have done it, and I think they would have been happy for me to do it too.”

Vanessa then made it clear that leaving This Morning was never on her agenda and stated that if the opportunity at Channel 5 hadn’t come up, she’d still be part of the morning show’s team.
