Jeff Brazier has opened up about the online struggles he faces with his sons Bobby and Freddie – as he explained why he was ‘grateful’ for hit Netflix show Adolescence
Jeff Brazier has revealed that he’s “grateful” for Netflix show Adolescence as the father of two sons. Speaking about the hit series on Thursday’s Loose Women, the father of EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, 21, and Freddie, 20, shared his online struggles with his sons.
The series, starring and co-written by Stephen Graham has taken the world by storm. It focuses on a family’s ordeal as their 13-year-old is arrested for murdering his classmate. Adolescence stars Stephen and Little Boy Blue’s Christine Tremarco as parents Eddie and Manda Miller as they struggle to cope with the allegations made against their son, Jamie (Owen Cooper). The series has been praised for portraying male rage and misogynistic influences online – could affect boys and young men’s mental health. There are even calls for it to be shown in schools, which were backed by Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Speaking on how he was ‘grateful’ for the show on Loose Women, Jeff who is father to EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and Freddie said: “I’m grateful to Adolescence and Stephen Graham and the actors to really highlight what we all struggle with as parents.
“How much is too much for me to be able to storm into the room and say, ‘I think you’re having a dangerous conversation. I need to look at your phone – the fallouts,” he said.
“In the end, we try to avoid that because we want a peaceful, calm and happy home but they’re in their bedrooms and their in their phones. Everything’s calm but it might not be. I’ve had nightmares as much as the next parent, to be honest.”
Earlier on in the show, Jeff spoke about the struggles teenagers face online, and how he hoped to be a good role model to his sons.
“Everything that my kids see online suggests that if they’re not like these influencers on Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok. There’s so many platforms that I can’t keep up, and certainly haven’t got access to.”
